Wishing Ms. Sweeney Well & Adjustments to Morning Supervision

Dear QVPS Kodiak Families,

Our dedicated EA, Ms. Sweeney, has completed her time at QVPS. The student(s) she was
supporting have reached a level of independence that no longer requires additional assistance.
This achievement is a testament to both Ms. Sweeney’s dedication and the hard work of the
students she has supported. While we will miss her kindness and expertise, we celebrate this
success with her and wish her all the best in her next chapter.

With this transition, our EA team will adjust from four to three members. As a result, we will be
making some small scheduling adjustments to ensure we continue to provide safe and effective
supervision, particularly during less structured times.

Effective Monday, March 31st, our outside morning supervision will be extended to 15
minutes, from 8:30 AM to 8:45 AM
. As always, school begins at 8:45 AM. We recognize that
for our youngest Kodiak students, a full 15 minutes of waiting in line may feel challenging. If
needed, we encourage families to use their best judgment in determining an appropriate arrival
time before 8:45 AM. Arriving between 8:35 AM and 8:40 AM may help ease the transition into
the morning routine.

We appreciate your support and flexibility as we continue to foster a safe and welcoming
environment for all students. Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions or
concerns.
Yours in education,

Bill Thompson
Principal, Queen Victoria Public School

TLDSB school/education centre closure – March 11, 2026

Due to the current and ongoing freezing rain, TLDSB has made the decision to close all schools, education centres, and child care centres in schools today, Wednesday, March 11.

Note: the Virtual Learning Centre remains open to students.

This decision was made with the safety of our students and staff as the top priority.

Please note, schools will not be moving to online learning.

We know this is an unusual circumstance and we appreciate parents/guardians for their understanding during this time.
