On June 6, Dr. George Hall Public School (DGHPS) hosted their first-ever Arts Night as a way to celebrate the hard work students have put towards their learning this school year.
Throughout the evening, parents/guardians, friends, and the community were invited to tour the school and enjoy an array of student art in all mediums. Each student in the school had one or more pieces on display that featured a year’s worth of creativity and inspiration! Attendees also got to see a performance from the school’s Grade 4 to 8 Cheerleading team.
“Seeing all of our art on display felt inspiring because of how much work was put into every small piece of art, and there were thousands of pieces of art there,” said Grade 4 student, Ashton Woods. “It made me proud to see how hard we all worked to make the art.”
“It felt really good to show everyone what we (the Cheerleading team) had been practicing and show how much we’d been working,” said Grade 7 student and Cheerleading team member, Alana Farr. “It also felt good to show off our artwork. Everyone had a piece of art so it was really good.”
“Wow, DGHPS has some unbelievably talented students and an extremely dedicated, creative, and enthusiastic art teacher! I was blown away by the displays, well done!” said parent, Sharon Nielsen. “The boys were super excited to show me all of their art projects! The book fair was a big hit and we loved watching the cheer performance too.”
