Mrs. Lautenschlager’s Grade 2/3 students and Mrs. Nielsen’s Grade 3/4 students were lucky enough to be invited to attend both the Lindsay Kids Day at the Fair on Thursday, September 21st, and the Bobcaygeon Kids Day at the Fair on Friday, September 29th. During both trips students learned about local agriculture, plants, and livestock. At the Lindsay Fair, in the sun and extremely warm temperatures, we visited many presenters and even learned how to administer an epi-pen from the paramedics and how to spin wool into yarn from some local sheep farmers. At the Bobcaygeon Fair, in the much cooler and wetter temperatures, we built a scare crow, played some old fashion games, planted some soy and wheat plants and created
animal themed paper plate masks. Many memories were made possible by the generosity of both the Lindsay and Bobcaygeon Fair Committees. We look forward to discussing the similarities and differences we observed between both trips. Mrs. Lautenschlager and Mrs. Nielsen would also like to thank all of their parent volunteers who helped these trips run smoothly, your
time was greatly appreciated!
